Led by Carnival Baby, Lennox Becks Gonsalves, Mirage Productions began it's artistic journey in 1986, with the self-named band, Mirage. Prior to that, Becks began his personal Mas involvement at the tender age of 1 year 4 months, in 1952, when Kiddies Carnival was staged in the backyard of the Court House in Kingstown. Carnival Baby played a clown, replete with Helium-filled balloons that was a first for Carnival in SVG. Becks, a former member of the Dragons Mas Band, previously joined forces with Daf Browne in 1977, presenting the band, Reflections. This band was designed by Vincy artist, Jensen Jack. Mirage's main designer, has been Wayne Berkeley of Trinidad and Tobago, who has Vincy roots. 

Berkeley gave way to his protégé, Elwin Johnson, who took over as Head Designer in 2000. Since 2003, Becks has put his ideas to the test, designing the band by drawing on his vast experience in mas. Mirage has historically been a band of firsts, introducing many innovations to Mas construction. These have included the use of Fiber Glass and Carbon Fiber rods, Pyrotechnics, Aluminum rods and tubing, as well as the use of cane, originally used in furniture making.
