Music existed everywhere in the culture of Mexico's early Indians. They believed
that it kept the world in motion and nature on their side. The instruments used
were percussion instruments, drums, flutes, and trumpets. Today Indians in some
parts of Mexico still play their ancestors music. The musicians most associated
with Mexico today are the mariachis, with groups wearing big sombreros, and
tight dark suits covered with silver, frilly shirts and cowboy boots.
